HIV/AIDS is preventable—it depends on you and your actions to keep it alive. It can be spread through the exchange of body fluids, including blood, semen and vaginal fluid. It can be spread through sexual intercourse, oral and anal sex, infected IV needles and transfused blood. A woman who is HIV-positive can pass it along to her unborn baby. HIV/AIDS weakens the immune system and leaves the body wide open to other serious infections. Infections that are harmless to a healthy person can kill a person with HIV/AIDS. The professionals at KHC want you to take a healthy interest in staying healthy and HIV/AIDS free. |
